  19. Agreed Riff. I am with you on taking the "high road". It would be nice if the country would come together. It seems like there have been two countries since Clinton got elected in 1992 together with a lot of hate (one of the reasons I jumped on the Obama wagon early despite being somewhat right of center was that no way no how did I want that hag in the White House). Sad to say, the hag might have thumped McCain even worse.

    I was up all night, unable to sleep, watching Lou Dobbs for an hour; Man, we aren't even AWARE of how broke this country is, not REALLY aware. SO many states are broke, BIG TIME, big auto companies BROKE, etc etc etc.....maybe that's why I couldn't go back to sleep!!
    I started thinking "Man, we've got to economize more and stop buying .." then I thought "NO, the economy needs us to spend!" OY

  25. Becoming aware of exactly how bad the financial system is broken is step one in making things better. Our electric grids as well as bridges and other infrature are hanging by a precarious balance. It's not like McCain had the capacity to fix any of this. Now is the time to think of rising from the ashes.

  26. I'm glad someone is a believer Barry but frankly I don't think either McCain or Obama would carry on anything other than politics as usual. I have seen nothing in Obama to give me hope other than some eloquent speeches. He's performed no such miracles other than his own election since becoming a politician. Faith in our politicians will almost always leave you disappointed. If it weren't for them we wouldn't be in this economic situation.

    I'd like to feel as you do. I will not detract from Obama's presidency but will be a member of the loyal opposition. When it comes to matters of life (abortion), liberty (natioanl police force) and the pursuit of happiness (overtaxing achievers) then I will respectfully oppose.
