  3. I'd heard this song on the radio a coupla times a while back and was tempted to Google it, but never did. Thanks for catching this one for be, elbro. I almost let it slip through the cracks... and that would have been a shame.

    Great tribute.

  5. i get sick when i think of how our vietnam vets were received upon their return to the u.s. it's great that we're finally recognizing them - they served in a controversial war and then were plucked out before things were settled - hence pol pot and the killing fields. who's to decide when a war is truly over?

strife? your wordv is so smartalecky!

  6. I work with so many of them nanc - I tell them every chance I get how much I appreciate what they did. One of them, a Marine Force Recon, still has parts of a grenade in his body...another (my car pool buddy) hurt his foot when he stepped in a bomb hole. They wanted to amputate but he refused. Kept his foot but he's in constant pain. Still another (Navy helicopter pilot) shot down and injured.

I admire and respect these men more than they'll ever know. All I can do know is to tell them thanks and that I and my family will not forget what they did.

  7. they still know we stopped short and it must be most difficult for them to accept that. history would be much different had we hung in there. who's to say? i know this, there'd be a generation of people alive in vietnam to tell the tale - perhaps a new economy, livelihood - who really knows what happens when something is cut short? and we can't even say what may have happened had we followed through. paradox(?)
