Be a Doer
Theodore Roosevelt
"Criticism is necessary and useful; it is often indispensable; but it can never take the place of action, or be even a poor substitute for it. The function of the mere critic is of very subordinate usefulness. It is the doer of deeds who actually counts in the battle for life, and not the man who looks on and says how the fight ought to be fought, without himself sharing the stress and the danger." (1894)

Which is why I hate all the post-modern reliance on critical theory. You can't design a new society on the basis of critiquing an old one. Many "goods" cannot live together... and every change you make carries a consequence.

Ever notice how few public protest involve the "right?" It's not the suits that go out carrying signs. Maybe it's time.

Burns, you have a great point about suits protesting. Imagine? "the man who looks on.." why does our ignoring Islam's headway in America come to mind? We type our irritated little fingers to the bone..but what are we relaly DOING? Nanc is right: if you can't DO, DONATE to someone who can. AND WILL.
