MSNBC's Chris Matthews: "You are a big Barack supporter, right, Senator?"

State Sen. Watson: "I am. Yes, I am."

Matthews: "Well, name some of his legislative accomplishments. No, Senator, I want you to name some of Barack Obama's legislative accomplishments tonight if you can."

State Sen. Watson: "Well, you know, what I will talk about is more about what he is offering the American people right now."

Matthews: "No. No. What has he accomplished, sir? You say you support him. Sir, you have to give me his accomplishments. You've supported him for president. You are on national television. Name his legislative accomplishments, Barack Obama, sir."

State Sen. Watson: "Well, I'm not going to be able to name you specific items of legislative accomplishments."

Matthews: "Can you name any? Can you name anything he's accomplished as a Congressman?"

State Sen. Watson: "No, I'm not going to be able to do that tonight."

Matthews: "Well, that is a problem isn't it?"

  1. Heh heh. I think I can name one BO achievement. Didn't he spearhead some Global Poverty Initiative wherein the USA is taxed in order to help the world. He's not stopping at taxing the individual to death, he wants to tax the country too! Sheesh.

  4. I saw this earlier, my sis sent it to me. Too funny that a spokeshole for Barack can't think of anything and keeps trying to divert attention from it.

  11. Well I have to hand it to Matthews -- this time he's right. It's funny how the right usually runs on its record (or at least tries to), while the left runs on the promises of "today", as though yesterday never happened. There's probably some kind of psychological ailment for such thinking.

  12. While you guys bemoan Obama's slim legislative experience, why don't you list all the accomplishments another gangly, slightly homely lawyer with great oration skills from Illinois made over his two years in Congress? Oh, he wasn't a Senator, though- just a lowly Representative.

Abe Lincoln didn't do much either, but he seemed to turn out okay as a President.

No, I'm not saying Obama is the next Lincoln...
