They're looking for a VP.....who will represent THEM

If McCain doesn't need the right then maybe he can get the vegetable vote

  1. I couldm't watch it all, I was getting hungry.

    Comment by Burns— 2008/02/17 @ 03:44 PM — (Reply)

  2. I watched all of it...even though I worried the whole time that the Mexican guy (squash?) was going to break into Mariachi Music....

Elbro, I hate to tell you this, but it's not a VP they're looking for, it's a belly button.

Funny, my word verification below is LENTIL. How very appropriate. heh heh

  3. well here lately conservatives have been marginalized

    who needs them

vegetables....now that's a different matter and if McCain is smart...he'll start making time with them whether they have belly buttons or not

  11. Do a youtube search for "silly songs his cheeseburger"

Comment by The Frank Family— 2008/02/18 @ 12:15 PM — (Reply)

  12. I see former PA Senator Rick Santorum and the perfect VP. They don't come more conservative than Rick. The DNC specifically targeted him therefore since the DNC hates him ipso facto conservatives love him.

If McCain wants a balanced ticket that would give him at least a glimmer of a chance, Santorum is his guy.

Of course, if he could get Condi to be the VP, the glimmer might increase to a flickering chance.

    Ed

    Comment by Ed— 2008/02/18 @ 01:08 PM — (Reply)

  13. Hi, Ed..too many of us are mad at Condi for her views on Israel........giving more land to the PA's, etc. As Beak calls them 'the pseudostinians!'

I think Santorum is a fantastic idea..young, dynamic, very conservative. good choice.

    Comment by Z— 2008/02/18 @ 02:12 PM — (Reply)

  14. Condi would probably be seen as pandering to women and African Americans.

    Ed

  15. I got an all day 'sucker' fj

Frank Family....I love that cheeseburger song and so does my kids

Ed - I've said it before....I don't care if McCain picks a martian

Comment by Elmers Brother— 2008/02/18 @ 01:19 PM — (Reply)

  16. I'll be clearer

My problem is that the more moderate Republicans blame the religious right for GWB, to such an extent that you can see the party move to the left or at least to they center

    .....marginalizing the religious right

The religious right might as well be vegetables without belly buttons...you see they're freaks now...they're the extremists...well if they want to marginalize them let's see the party get their guy elected by ignoring them

    I'm considering not voting

I'm not trying to teach 'them' a lesson by not voting....(I haven't really made my mind up yet) I just can't bring myself to vote against Hillary or Obama when the collective (Dems and Republican) move to the left appears inevitable

Why should I be a part of moving the country to the left

Comment by Elmers Brother— 2008/02/18 @ 01:46 PM — (Reply)

  17. Elbro, you have a lot of time to decide and you will never have to tell us whether or not you voted, this is still America (sort of!)
I totally support your feelings about how the Christian Right has been marginalized and I hate it. We have every bit the legitimate reasons to act on what informs us as the far left does, don't we. Yet, we're mocked and considered stupid for our beliefs..and they're the brilliant elite? rubbish. Why MUST we go farther and farther left? (answer: teachers and professors and what they're teaching whole generations)
I agree it'll be the PARTY that 'gets its way'. Let's face it, nearly every Republian I know wanted Thompson but added "but, he can't win" Funny, who said he could't? but the media did with their constant "he's too slow, too old.." ridiculous...I will always believe the party told them to say those things... the party wants McCain, the party got McCain. scary.
Still, MY PERSONAL thing is that I HAVE TO VOTE. I have to do all I can to NOT let Hillary or Obama get in. Not with a Dem congress supporting their idiot lefty socialist lite nonsense. I have to think about the Supreme Court and know that anybody McCain picks will be far better than anybody Hill or Obama would pick. I have to remember he's pro 2nd Amenment, and VERY tough on this war...all things I agree with. Amnesty? We can overcome the White House/Senate/Congress with emails and phones like we did months ago, getting that stupid bill killed, right?
I understand your concern and am touched by it...you have such honorable reasons to support your stance. I just can't take that stance. I don't think. There are 9 months in which to finally decide. Man, can we TAKE NINE MONTHS OF THIS?????

    Comment by Z— 2008/02/18 @ 02:38 PM — (Reply)

  18. Because you want to have a say so that worst of the three is not elected instead of the best of the three. That's why.

    Ed

  19. the best of the three?

  20. Easy choice. Obama. Throw out the old, bring in the new.

    Ed

    Comment by Ed— 2008/02/18 @ 02:21 PM — (Reply)

  21. ED? are you joshing with us? Sarcasm?

Is "NEW" something so important, when that "NEW" is backed by nothing? What is it that appeals to him other than his attractive package, his looks, his articulate speech? What stances are you thrilled with?

    Comment by Z— 2008/02/18 @ 02:29 PM — (Reply)

  22. he's got the most liberal record of the three...

change for the sake of change? I admit it sounds promising but other than the war and coming up with some kind of healthcare plan is he anything other than an empty suit or at least an Armani full of platitudes?

Comment by Elmers Brother— 2008/02/18 @ 02:22 PM — (Reply)

  23. You guys deserve what your gonna get. It confused you so much to have a real conservative like Ron Paul to actually vote for that half of you jumped ship to the libs and the other half of you waited 6 months for the MSM to tell you what you should think before you got behind McWarpig. It really proves some people will never learn if you can't learn from the Bush debacle.

    Comment by Dugg— 2008/02/18 @ 02:47 PM — (Reply)

  24. Dugg, Dugg, Dugg...some of us know that doing what Al Qaeda hoped for wasn't a bright idea. what's wrong with THAT? Leaving Iraq early is a disaster. Look at the news coming from there now..not so bad, eh?
It's one thing to vote for a candidate we don't like, it's a whole other thing to vote for someone who didn't stand a chance in hell...and Paul didn't. I admire your zeal, I surely agree that McCain isn't really a good conservative! But.............think SUpreme Court. At least we have a chance.

    Comment by Z— 2008/02/18 @ 03:07 PM — (Reply)

  25. dugg there were some things about Ron Paul that I liked

but I wasn't going to tell you that

it was much more fun to give you a hard time

and who are you stuck with dugg?

  32. Well, honest to God, Elmer, if you don't like any of them why didn't you stick it to them with a protest vote? If enough people did it would be more than just a protest.
You're right - we are all gonna get it but I think I've earned the right to be honestly F@n outraged. I didn't vote for this and wouldn't if a loaded gun was to my head.
The day Clinton takes office I'll be putting a Ron Paul is my President sticker on the bumper.

    Comment by Dugg— 2008/02/18 @ 05:58 PM — (Reply)

  33. earned the right? how dugg? by jumping on conspiracies and looking for the glass half empty?

    spit

  34. Know you're assuming. I actually do exist away from Bloghi on occasion. I put a lot of time and effort into the Ron Paul campaign aside from this blog. I volunteered a many of hour. I earned the right to bitch about whoever gets elected - and that's one right I plan on exercising to the death.

    Comment by Dugg— 2008/02/18 @ 06:11 PM — (Reply)

  35. How do you know I didn't lodge a protest vote?

    You assume too much dugg

  39. Protest votes are a wasted vote, this election is looking to be very close, make it count. The war, radical Islam and the potential appointing of up to 6 supreme court judges are at stake, these take precedent over everything else....sack up and vote McCain.

"You're my Cheesburger" is the greatest Veggie Tales tune, the Mrs. loves the Barbara Manatee song.

Comment by Joe Gringo— 2008/02/19 @ 08:26 AM — (Reply)

  40. sack up Joe? I sacked up for 20 years including combat duty in Iraq

tell it to the lefties whe want us to fail

when the left encourages those to pitch in and serve their country instead of wanting to surrender I'll think about holding my nose

Comment by Elmers Brother— 2008/02/19 @ 01:59 PM — (Reply)

  41. EB, seems I was unclear, I was directing that at Dugg and to the lefties out there (not that he is), seems he's encouraging a protest vote. The war comes first, McCain is much better to lead us than Obama, who seems dang close to closing the door on Hillary.

The last thing I would ever tell any current or former military man is to sack up, you're the bomb brother, I'm right behind you on every post I've read from you.

Comment by Joe Gringo— 2008/02/20 @ 09:18 AM — (Reply)

  42. sorry joe

Comment by Elmers Brother— 2008/02/20 @ 01:27 PM — (Reply)

  43. Former military right here (hand waves)
    Sack up - Vote Paul!

    Comment by Dugg— 2008/02/20 @ 10:14 AM — (Reply)

  44. I'm far from a lefty. Personally I think a "protest vote" is no vote. The primary focus in this election is ABC (anything but Clinton). McCain is a male Hillary. So that leaves Obama. JFK surprised a lot of people and I think Obama might too. (There may be way more conservative to Obama than he needed to let on. He had to be as left as Hillary to beat her). For example his health care plan is more conservative than Hillary's. I have NEVER voted for a non Republican for President going back to 1972. That's right beginning with Nixon. However I am voting for Obama this time and am still cautiously optimistic he will kill the witch bitch.
