Liberals simply do not trust the common man to make his own decisions. That is the simple and undergirding philosophy which fuels all of their actions to correct the decisions made by the free market. That is also a very clear sign that such people should never, ever be given the reigns of power.

From this article:
The left is determined that they control all the news and commentaries. They can't do so in a fair market, of course, so they're trying to do so politically.

Having listen to some of the Liberal Talk Radio shows, they are mostly boring, and really offer no real substance, is just "Hey lets bash Bush, and Call it a Radio Show".
Forcing people to have to hear these guys, goes against exactly what Freedom of Speech and Capitalism is all about, they are free to say what they want, and we the people are free to reject it, they made no money, went bankrupt, It's as American as Apple Pie. What Liberals in Washington really want to do, is force Broadcasters to air Liberal radio, that failed in the Marketplace, now that is unamerican, and violating the Broadcasters right to air quality programming, that makes them money in the process.

aow - Pence is a former talk radio host and from what I understood it only put it on the back burner for a year...this also does not preclude the FCC from reinstating it (again if I understood correctly)
Hi Rob, Russet - you're both right I wonder if they would be willing to apply this to say....NPR? or CNN? How would they enforce this? Can you imagine owning a radio station and trying to comply with such regulation?

I listen to Amy Goodman on Pacifica Radio all the time. Whenever I think of the "Fairness Doctrine" being applied, I simply imagine Democracy Now scaled up x10. And if you've ever heard that show or seen it on cable, you'd realize just how big a disaster that would be. It would be like giving International A.N.S.W.E.R. an un-disconnectable megaphone into every house in America.

Always remember, Fair is another four-letter-word, only it means doing it to yourself...

Sometimes I listen to Air America Farmer and I feel the same way. Of course there is something to be said for binge and purge.

Could they sue us for violating the 'Fairness Doctrine' if we gouge our own eardrums?

I have listen to Stephanie Miller from Air America, this has got to be the worst talk radio show of all time.
