Oh Holy Night

@ 07:03 PM (18 months, 21 days ago)

Oh Holy Night

		Oh holy night!
		The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

			Fall on your knees
			Oh hear the angel voices
			Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
			Oh night divine
			Oh night divine

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here come the wise men from Orient land
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our friend.
                        Fall on your knees
			Oh hear the angel voices
			Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
			Oh night divine
			Oh night divine
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
                        Fall on your knees
			Oh hear the angel voices
			Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
			Oh night divine
			Oh night divine

  2. Nanc,
How did you do with that high note at the finale?

  3. This is one that makes me cry. As I get older, I realize the deeper meanings of these old hymns. They become exceedingly precious, frankencense and myrrh in the "nostils" of my inner being. A sweet savor and a foretaste of glories to come!
May you and your families Christmas be joyous and bright!

  4. This was my fathers favorite Christmas hymn. It always reminds me of him and the chorus makes me well up.

  5. Hi hon! And Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah to you and yours! The dressing is made, the cranberry-orange jello is done, the mince pie is in the oven! I hope you have a TERRIFIC Christmas--it's been wonderful knowing you, and I hope to get to know you better in 2007!

    Love, DONAL
