Me Myself and 3 Kidney Stones
EEEEEOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!
Kidney Stones.
![]()
Again.
![]()
Only had 3 this time.
It's funny how a man reacts when he has kidney stones. Some men break down and cry like a baby. And some others take an uzi and climb a clock tower.
Well at least my " : " is not an " ! "

EB,
I hear it takes some stones to pass some stones. I bet a cold one in this heat was sure nice after the "passing"!

A friend of mine's extremely pregnant daughter had one, this was while Katrina was coming in(she lives in Texas)! That was a fun time! She was told to do something(without drugs) and it worked, dissolved the stone in hours!
Hope they pass this weekend and you can get back to living!
G*D bless and good morning!

EB- She was told, by 2 doctors, to get a 6 pack of original Coke and a can of asparagus. Drink all the coke in 2 hrs.(acid breaks down the stones and that much pushed through fast forces the issue) then eat the asparagus(whole can) because it flushes the kidneys. 6 hrs. later you pass white mucus. She did, it worked in about 4 hrs.! She was told by one of the docs that urologists use that technique for themselves! You might try that and save yourself some doctor bills! It has to be the original coke though!

Asparagus and Coke?
I thought that coke causes more calcification, and would make 'em worse.
Lots and lots and lots of water and percocet!
Get better, my friend!

Oh, Elmer's! "They" say that stones are the worst pain you can experience (worse even than childbirth, according to those who have had both!).
Third time, you say? I hope your guy has something in mind to prevent future attacks! AYEEE!
Boy, a lot of the troops are casualties these days!
Take care, get well, OK?

my stones are calcium stones and are caused by a high sodium intake. They have told me to reduce my sodium (which is in everything)
tmw - The pic I just got off the internet, you would not believe all the different types there are (about 15-20) and they all look gnarly
Comment by elmers brother— 2006/06/17 @ 07:40 AM — (Reply)
TMW,
Gnarly is normal for kidney stones. But I think that gallstones can be smooth.

Asparagus does flush the kidneys, according to my very healthy 90-year-old aunt.
Feel better soon, EB. Prayers going up for you.
PS: I finally got some relief from my suffering with this sciatica. I started the steroids yesterday and already have some relief. The MRI report is due on Monday.
PPS: I'm sure that my back miseries are not as bad as kidney stones. OUCH!
Comment by Always On Watch— 2006/06/17 @ 05:35 PM — (Reply)
Don't worry Barry I'm not interested in going to the salt flats.
tmw - asparagus Huh?
Brooke - what else is there to eat?
AoW - Chances are your back problems are much more debilitating.
Comment by elmers brother— 2006/06/17 @ 05:42 PM — (Reply)
I guess meat and veggies, and diet soda and tea from now on. And whole breads.
Don't worry, we'll sneak ya' a Snickers from time to time.
Hey, AoW, glad to hear you're feeling better!
Comment by Brooke— 2006/06/18 @ 03:12 AM — (Reply)
Brooke,
Yes, I feel much better. Not perfect, but better.
Steroids have side effects, of course, but a short course of steroid therapy will allow me to get moving again. And the ability to move around is so important for one's mental and physical well-being. I've been nearly immobile for the past few weeks!
Swimming pool today. Yeehaw!

The doc thought I had some one time. You're right they are painful. Vicaden is the only thing that worked for me, and whoever above said "Drink lots of water".. The symptoms lasted off and on for about a month, and they since have not returned.
I had a friend who thinks he had them once too. He went to the doctor and the doctor said "Looks like we're going to have open the hood." He said "What does that mean?" The doc said "Operate". He left and got a 2nd opinion...
Can you believe a doc would say that "Looks like we're going to have to open the hood!" Eeeeeee...
Comment by eyesallaround— 2006/06/19 @ 04:32 AM — (Reply)
eyes - this is the fourth procedure I have had done in the last 4 years or so.
"look under the hood" - I would have cut the doctor a little slack, unless he was a proctologist.
