Annie Oakley, the 2nd amendment, and true love
So my wife and I are out exercising our second amendment right to bear arms (eat your heart out Gravelrash) and Annie Oakley here decides that she is going to make a statement. We double dated with another couple and mind you this is the first time we have gone shooting together and only the SECOND time she has shot a pistol period. My friend then gives her a little coaching and away she goes:

So my buddy says hey Annie aim for the heart and guess what she walks that puppy right in there.

So then Annie gets a new challenge how about a head shot.

I think I'm in love!

The colonel won't let me get a gun - he sees how I drive! ROTFLMBO
I did shoot once at a brigade organization day - missed the target but I nearly bagged a squirrel...

I keep mine in the SUV in case some road raged nut (e.g. sheethead pino) comes after me.

EB,
Impressive! I've heard that women have better discriminatory vision for shooting, but I don't know if that's true.

triangular groin pattern - that's my motto - for when you don't want to kill them, you just want to make them wish they were dead - that from my qualifying rangemaster 20+ years ago to my boss about me. and i hope i've not changed much since then.

my brother in law has a p22 with a SILENCER that's a lot of fun
Comment by elmers brother — 2006/05/19 @ 11:55 AM — (Reply)
Silencer? That would be neat. The P-22 is cute too. Even when I was a Dhimmicrat and lost-in-space, I was pro-gun, pro-death penalty and pro-military. I went from Dhimmicrat to right wing fundie over night.. 9/11/01...

Well, let's see. I was raised a Baptist, went to church and "believed", but I kept noticing that a lot of Christians didn't behave as Christians should. So, I didn't take it seriously anymore. Then 911 hit. I read the koran, saw how filled with hatred it was, and decided to read the Bible again.
When I did I realized with an adult mind how incredibly different it was. It really is living, and it spoke to my intellect. One day it just "dawned" on me that that "it's not about me", it's about God (I was struggling after having almost died the previous year from a rare pneumonia & 2 months in ICU).
Anyhow, at that instant I turned toward God as the center of my universe, and fell head over heels "in love" with God. I wanted to know everything about God. I loved God and really felt His love for me. It is as "real" and more powerful than any human love... and that is God's amazing grace. For whatever reason, He chose to show me that. Incredible.
Then, I started doing some of things written about in the Bible, like forgiveness.. and amazing things started happening. Now I believe that if you really believe, and follow what the Bible says, you really will be blessed. Of course bad things do happen to good people, but with God even the bad will work out OK.

Oh, conversion to the right wing occurred at (as I recall) 8:45 am 09/11/2001 when the 2nd plane flew into the second tower. I knew it was muslims, and I wanted to go shoot one. Any muslim would do. Obviously I didn't:>) But that's how I felt at the time. I was amazed at how restrained we Americans were at that time. I think 1 person killed a Sikh (sp?), thinking he was a muslim.
