“Be proud of being an American. Our father came to this country, became a citizen because it was the right place for our family to be.”
Sergeant Peralta’s younger sister, Karen, 13, was left to confront life without a father and now older brother. She worried that his life and legacy would soon be forgotten: “I know that right now, people are really nice and everything. When it’s going to be like, one year, or two years, they are going to forget about him….Right now they are giving medals to my mom for everything. But I know that when it comes to later on, they are going to forget him, they’re gonna forget about him.”

I thought it would be interesting to see what the media said about another president during wartime. This all sounds so eerily familiar. You will probably guess who it is before you get to the end. All comers are welcome to take a swag in the comments section and when all guesses are in I will provide the answer.

Luke 24:4-9
And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words, And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

His father recalled "
I will never forget the time he told me about his exchange with an English-speaking Iraqi woman who pleaded with him: "Please don't go home. We need you to protect us." Craig consoled her and explained that while they have their own homes and one day would have to leave, "we're here for you now."
Tragically, in the extreme battlefield conditions, including 135 degree heat, Craig suffered a stroke and was transported to Germany where he died.
Craig was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star. The clinic he worked at in Kirkuk was named the Ivory Combat Clinic to honor him. Then his former staff sergeant wrote and published a memoir which featured a chapter devoted to Craig's story.
Passover is a fundamental symbol of redemption both in Judaism and Christianity. I took a class on the book of Exodus in Bible college once. It's the great story of the redemption of God's people being led out of slavery. This week our Jewish friends are celebrating Passover and we Christians are celebrating Easter. In this class we talked about the significance of the Passover and the types or symbols of Christ that can be found there. Ever wonder if this is coincidence or part of the Lord's plan?

When my husband and I heard that our son Forest was going to Iraq, we were concerned - like any parents would be whose son was going into harm's way.
But we knew that Forest believed in the mission. In fact, he signed up for active duty after the September 11, 2001 attacks because he wanted to defend our country from terrorists.
Tragically, Forest was killed on a volunteer mission - with Cindy Sheehan's son Casey - to set up a medical evacuation point for fellow soldiers wounded and trapped in an abandoned building.
I will never forget the day we received the news that Forest had given his life for his country.
Unlike Cindy Sheehan, however, my family determined that we would continue the fight against terror that our son gave his life for.
That is why we joined Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission.
As someone who has personally borne the costs of this war, we know the loss; we know the grief.
We just wish the media would give half as much attention to the accomplishments.
Please join my family in asking the national media to recognize Iraqi Liberation Week on April 9th through the 15th. Don't let them ignore this milestone!
All you have to do is go to www.FamiliesUnitedMission.com/letter, sign the letter and forward it to your friends.
Sincerely,

As Easter is this weekend I wanted to post some of my favorite scriptures. Isaiah 53 talks about His suffering and because of His suffering we can be right with God. I like this passage so much that I have this reference tattooed on my arm. I want to be reminded of His suffering for me.

THE NYT STRIKES AGAIN--ACCENTUATING THE NEGATIVE: This time, the NYT reaches to find news of "worsening retention levels" in the U.S. Army. It goes front page above the fold with a story titled "Young Officers Leaving Army at a High Rate." Compare this to the headline in USA TODAY, "Army Surpasssing Year's Retention Goal by 15%."
In the name of God Almighty. There is only one God, to whom we shall all return. I would like to inform all intrepid Americans in the world that the Senator that goes by the name McCain who has otherwise compromised, pandered to illegals, and ignored his constituents and in opposition to his voters, as well as those who were aware of his activities, have been sentenced to a life of dhimmitude. I call on all zealous Americans to vote him out quickly. So that no one will dare insult the American voter again. Whoever succeeds on this path will be regarded as a patriot. In addition, anyone who has access to the senator, and possesses the power to influence him, should remind him of the people who voted for him. The Grand Pubah Ayatollah Mufti EB.
