Huh? Leftists, Progressives are Hard of Hearing
This post from No Oil for Pacifists describes the left's desire for us to fail in Iraq. Here's a portion:

For those without any sense of the importance of individual dignity and value, Marxism then becomes a panacea, the ultimate way to simplify the messy and crude 'capitalism' that is such a convenient and easy whipping boy.
It is absurd to witness leftist academics continue to insist that -- contrary to everything the Islamicist fundamentalists say about themselves, their goals, and their motives -- their REAL grievance has to do with economic injustice, defined (remarkably!) as exactly the kind of issues and concerns that leftist intellectuals discuss in faculty lounges. (What a coincidence!)

Last night, I had occasion to speak with an Afghani who has worked, as a civilian, with our special forces in Iraq. He informed me that we aren't getting the whole story about what the Iraq Constitution can accomplish. His biggest worry: Iran.
He is puzzled as why ANY American would be a Leftist.

It's no surprise that we are not getting the whole story. I have friends serving and who have served over there. The MSM and the left want us to fail.

Yes, the Left wants America to fail. What the fools don't get is that if America fails, they too go down. The very freedoms we're trying to protect are the freedoms the Left uses to promote their anti-American agenda. If Islamist law dominates a society, nobody gets to protest anything without getting stoned or getting one's head chopped off!

AOW:- "What the fools don't get is that if America fails, they too go down." I belive these dangerous idiots have deluded themselves somehow, that they will be welcomed with open arms. The Left seems unable to deal with the gravitas of the Koranic verses that refer to them. Strangely, the Left promotes far more in the way of 'licence' and 'freedom' that a hard line Muslim would abhor, than any Rightist
but the Left still deludes itself as to what an Islamic response to them would be....MUST BE!

The Leftists are too deluded, by their foolish ideology and by their hatred of the Right, to recognize they're being used. IMO, they won't recognize their mistake until they are hauled off in cattle cars or otherwise dispensed with.
