Portrait of a Hero

Do you think this guy would ever come up with a cockamamy story about being in Fallujah on Christmas Eve and it being seared into his memory? Or maybe he collected a boonie hat from some CIA operative on one of his jaunts into enemy territory.

Get Used To Disappointment

@ 03:42 PM (39 months, 12 days ago)

Geez what a day. First the laptop I use for work crapped out. I had to "restore" everything. I hate that they use the word restore, because it wipes out everything you wanted to keep. It should be more like a rewrite or a erasure or just a big middle finger from the guys at Microsoft to the guy like me who doesn't backup everything....uggggghhhhhh!!!!! Then I am talking to my boss on my cell phone in the parking lot and I get out of the car and lock my keys in the work van. $50 and 2 hrs later I am finally able to get home. It's a good thing I can laugh at this stuff cuz otherwise I would pull what's left of my hair out.

Fashion Faux Pas

@ 02:03 PM (39 months, 18 days ago)
I saw a guy at Cobblestone today dressed in a leather skirt. Man I thought I was wierd. He looked like Bruce Willis after he lost all his hair. He was wearing combat boots with this skirt. If he had the right hat he might have even passed for a Roman Centurion. Combat boots sorta seems like a fashion faux pas, I mean pumps might have went a little better with leather, chaps anything but combat boots.

Lost a friend

@ 03:27 PM (39 months, 19 days ago)

Our friend Tim Jones went Home last week after being in a coma for 18 months. Tim was an elder at our church in Guam. We went to his funeral on Saturday. After the funeral I was feeling really sad and I was contemplating my own mortality. Tim was a great guy, someone you want to be like and trying to summarize his life in a few hours didn't seem fair. Actually it sucked and a part of me was angry. I am going to ask God about this one. All my Christian friends would probably give me a bunch of platitudes and speak a bunch of Christianeze about how Tim is with the Lord etc. Yea that's true, but it doesn't make me feel any better.
